a tribute.
As I've mentioned before, this blog has unintentionally turned into a hub for an outpouring of love, and is also the source of many written-but-unpublished-daily-ponderings - this post being one of those that has sat mulling away in the drafts folder for quite some time.
I remember being told over fifteen years ago by a close friend that I was an "incredibly intense person" and that everything I did, I did with "total passion." I am very aware of that omnipresent passion today, and of the effect it has on both people and situations - the positive, and unfortunately, the heartbreakingly negative. This teenaged observation came with a very serious warning: to "take care," because that intensity and that passion was powerful enough to make changes in the world - in both positive and negative ways, and "God forbid if it should ever connect with another heart just like it."
.....and then it happened. My heart connected with another - just as intense, just as passionate, and just as filled with love. She came into my life like a whirlwind, and nothing has been the same ever since.
So this post is a tribute: to the strongest, most passionate, most beautiful woman that I know.
No words can describe the love, the strength or the faith of your heart.
No photograph can truly capture the essence of who you are - the commitment you have to seeing things through, or the strong sense of justice that you hold close.
No story can fully retell the intense roller coaster of events that we have ridden together in recent months.
No tool can measure your intelligence, nor your success.
No pain can cut loose your ties to God.
No other human being can understand the connection between us; no human being can break that down either.
No words can explain how much you mean to me.
No single moment can represent the sweetness of your soul.
No obstacle can stand in the way of our hearts: together we will change the world.
No blogpost can capture how truly amazing or beautiful you are.
"You're a diamond darling; they can't break you."
